Hotel BRN and Catering BRN

BRN for Umrah Visa — Hotel, Catering & Approval Process

BRN means Booking Reference Number. In the applicable Nusuk Umrah workflow this agency uses, booking references are attached to the traveller file so the hotel stay and catering-service arrangements can be matched before the visa application proceeds.

These arrangements apply to this agency’s Umrah visa-processing workflow from India. They are not stated as identical rules for every Saudi visa category.

What Is BRN in Umrah Visa?

A BRN is a booking or service reference used to identify accommodation or other registered services within the applicable Saudi Umrah processing workflow. An ordinary online hotel confirmation number is not automatically an approved Nusuk Masar accommodation agreement.

Which references are needed can differ by visa category and by the Saudi processing channel. This page explains Hotel BRN and Catering BRN on this agency’s applicable Umrah workflow. It does not make those two references identical for every Saudi visa. First-leg airport transport is separate and is not a Transport BRN.

Hotel BRN and Catering BRN

Keep the reference, the agreement status, the programme link and the service that was actually purchased as four different things. A number can exist before the hotel has approved it. An approved reference is still not the room or the meal.

Status Hotel BRN Catering BRN
What it identifies Hotel accommodation reference Catering service reference
Booking reference Hotel booking or agreement reference Catering service reference
Pending agreement Awaiting applicable approval Awaiting applicable confirmation
Approved agreement Hotel agreement approved Catering arrangement confirmed
Programme linkage Linked to applicable hotel stay Linked to applicable catering service days
Actual service purchased Hotel room is purchased separately Actual meals are purchased separately

Mandatory First-Leg Airport Transport — Tafweej

For applicable Umrah arrivals, the required first-leg airport transfer must be arranged through an authorised, Nusuk-approved transport provider and coordinated through the applicable Tafweej/Nusuk process.

Examples:

  • Jeddah Airport → Makkah hotel
  • Madinah Airport → Madinah hotel

The approved transport arrangement is separate from the Hotel BRN and the Catering BRN. It is not a Transport BRN, and this page does not say a separate Transport BRN must be purchased.

Airport transport charges are quoted separately according to the arrival airport, destination, passenger count and vehicle category. Published vehicle rates, where they apply, stay on the price page.

How We Generate and Obtain Approval for a Hotel BRN in Nusuk Masar

This is the sequence used on this agency’s Nusuk Masar files. Existing eligible Makkah and Madinah reservations can often be kept when the hotel can verify the booking. Fictitious hotel bookings or artificial BRNs are not treated as legitimate arrangements. Not every hotel is available in the system.

  1. Customer provides hotel information. The file needs the hotel name, the hotel licence number where the customer has it (preferably the number registered in the applicable Saudi system), the hotel confirmation, check-in and check-out dates, the number of rooms, room occupancy and bed requirements, and the number of adults and children. The name on the booking site can differ from the hotel’s legal or registered name. Names and dates should match the travellers’ passports.
  2. Search for the hotel in Nusuk Masar. The authorised operator searches for the accommodation provider. Where the system supports it, searching by the registered hotel licence number is preferable. A name search can return more than one property. This page does not claim that every hotel can be found.
  3. Select rooms, beds and stay details. The operator enters the rooms, beds, guests, check-in and check-out dates, and the property details that match the reservation. Children and infants follow that hotel’s occupancy policy and the system’s requirements. This page does not say that infants stay free.
  4. Create the accommodation agreement. The relevant Nusuk Masar agreement is generated. Creation does not automatically mean approval. An agreement can be created, awaiting hotel approval, or approved. Only the approved status is treated as an approved accommodation BRN.
  5. Send the agreement to the hotel. The agreement is made available through the relevant system workflow. Where manual coordination is required, the agency gives the agreement or reference and the booking details to the customer or the hotel for confirmation. A customer who booked independently may need to contact the hotel. Omni Trips and Hospitality Services can guide that conversation. The hotel, not this website, decides whether it can approve.
  6. The hotel verifies the booking. The hotel checks the reservation, the dates, room inventory, guest information, payment or settlement where that hotel requires it, and whether the booking matches the agreement. Independently booked reservations can take additional coordination. Hotels do not all use the same financial-approval steps. Incomplete, unmatched or expired details can stall the request.
  7. The hotel approves the agreement. When the hotel approves it through the applicable workflow, the accommodation reference can be used according to the Saudi system’s requirements. That approved status is different from the reference created at step 4. A pending reference is not called an approved BRN. Observed estimate on this agency’s files: often approximately 24–48 hours. That is operational experience, not a guarantee. Delays may exceed that.
  8. Link the approved BRN to the Umrah programme. The approved accommodation record is associated with the relevant stay. Example: a Makkah stay from 7 March to 14 March uses the approved Makkah accommodation reference for those dates. Madinah accommodation is handled the same way when that stay is required. Visa processing then continues through the applicable authorised channel. Where the system supports it, accommodation details may later appear in the traveller’s Nusuk services. Not every Nusuk app version is stated to show the same screen. Waiting for hotel approval is not the same as waiting for a Saudi visa decision. After the required hotel, Catering BRN, flight and document arrangements are complete, the visa application can proceed.

Practical delay ranges are on the Umrah visa processing-time page.

Redacted screenshots will be added when genuine Nusuk Masar captures are supplied. No image is published until passenger names, passport numbers, booking identifiers, hotel credentials, operator account details, financial information and OTPs have been removed. The eight steps above are the guide in the meantime.

  1. Hotel search.
  2. Hotel licence identification.
  3. Room and occupancy selection.
  4. Agreement creation.
  5. Pending approval.
  6. Approved agreement.
  7. Programme linkage.

Booked a Hotel Online? Why Obtaining a Nusuk BRN Can Be Difficult

A Booking.com or Agoda confirmation number is not automatically a Nusuk BRN. The trading name on the booking site may differ from the hotel’s registered name, and the licence number is often not shown to the traveller. Creating the agreement is also a different step from the hotel approving it.

  • An online platform may not settle the stay with the hotel immediately.
  • A pay-at-property or pay-at-check-in booking can make approval harder.
  • Some hotels ask for confirmed payment or settlement before they approve the agreement. That is the hotel’s policy and the applicable Nusuk workflow, not a rule this page states as Saudi law for every booking.
  • The customer may need to speak to the hotel’s reservations or finance team. This agency can explain what to ask.
  • A hold that expires before the hotel can verify payment no longer matches a live reservation.
  • Changing the hotel or the dates after the request is sent, or while an earlier request is still pending, means the file has to be updated. An earlier approval does not carry over to a different hotel.

Why Full Hotel Payment Matters for BRN Approval

When you book a hotel through Booking.com, Agoda or another online booking platform, receiving a confirmation number does not necessarily mean the hotel has received your payment. Some reservations are secured only with a credit card. Others offer pay at property or pay at check-in. These arrangements can cause difficulties when obtaining an approved accommodation BRN through Nusuk Masar.

  1. The customer makes a hotel reservation.
  2. The external Umrah agency identifies the hotel in Nusuk Masar, preferably using its registered licence number.
  3. The accommodation agreement is created from the confirmed room, guest and stay details.
  4. The agreement is initially awaiting hotel approval.
  5. The hotel checks the reservation and the payment or settlement requirements that apply to that booking.
  6. Where the hotel requires full payment or settlement, it may not approve the agreement until payment is confirmed.
  7. Once the hotel approves the agreement, the approved accommodation reference can be linked to the applicable Umrah programme.

Hotel Booking Confirmed ≠ BRN Approved

A credit-card guarantee, booking confirmation or pay-at-check-in reservation does not automatically qualify as an approved Nusuk accommodation BRN. For this agency’s standard BRN coordination, customers should arrange a fully paid and hotel-confirmed reservation before requesting agreement approval. Individual hotel approval policies and Saudi-system requirements may differ.

What if your booking is Pay at Check-in?

A pay-at-check-in reservation can still be discussed. The practical options are:

  • Contact the hotel and ask whether an advance-payment option is available.
  • Confirm whether that hotel can approve the Nusuk accommodation agreement on the current terms.
  • Ask this team to assess another accommodation arrangement.
  • Consider Premium BRN coordination where it fits the file.

Premium is not a way to bypass Saudi rules or the hotel’s approval. It does not turn an unpaid reservation into an approved BRN. The hotel still has to approve the agreement that is actually used.

Need Help Getting Your Hotel BRN Approved?

Why Work With a Qualified External Umrah Agency for BRN Assistance?

Hotel BRN coordination involves more than entering a reservation number. The hotel must be identified correctly, accommodation details must match, and the relevant agreement must reach the appropriate approval stage before it can be used in the Umrah processing workflow. Omni Trips and Hospitality Services helps pilgrims coordinate these steps through its established travel operations and qualified external-agency arrangements.

Hotel BRN and Catering BRN charges

The Standard assistance price is ₹13,990 per person, including visa-processing assistance, mandatory Saudi Umrah health insurance and GST. That price is not a BRN fee. The applicant arranges the hotel stay, flights, meals and airport transport separately. The complete commercial explanation is on the Umrah visa price page.

Standard

  • Catering BRN is charged separately.
  • Makkah: ₹75 per person per applicable service day.
  • Madinah: ₹125 per person per applicable service day.
  • Hotel BRN coordination for customer-provided bookings is confirmed separately. No universal Hotel BRN fee is published here.

Premium

  • ₹13,990 + ₹290 per person per full intended Umrah trip day.
  • The additional daily charge includes eligible Hotel BRN/reference coordination and Catering BRN coordination.
  • It does not include actual hotel rooms or meals.
  • It does not approve an unpaid reservation, and it does not bypass hotel approval.
  • GST is not stated as included in the additional ₹290 daily charge.

Catering BRN days follow applicable Nusuk service days. Those days can differ from hotel nights. Example used on the price page: Makkah 3 hotel nights and 4 Catering BRN days; Madinah 2 hotel nights and 3 Catering BRN days.

What Is Catering BRN and Why Is It Used for Umrah?

Catering BRN is the catering-service reference used in the applicable Umrah programme. It sits beside the hotel record. It is not the hotel stay, and it is not the visa.

  • Catering record. The reference that identifies the catering arrangement for the permitted service days.
  • Actual meal service. Food supplied to the pilgrim. This agency’s coordination charge does not include it.
  • Redeemable food coupon. A voucher the traveller can exchange for food. This charge is not that coupon. If the quotation does not include meals or a coupon, the customer does not receive either.
  • Administrative coordination. Preparing and linking the catering record. The Standard Makkah and Madinah amounts above are this agency’s coordination charges.

Travellers sometimes mention a 20 SAR daily catering figure, and a lower coordination charge beside it. This page does not treat 20 SAR as a confirmed government fee. No official notice is cited here for that amount. Paying the coordination charge does not bypass a catering-service requirement that the applicable programme still imposes.

Premium’s daily charge includes eligible Catering BRN coordination. It does not include meals. Service days can exceed hotel nights. The price-page example is Makkah 3 hotel nights and 4 Catering BRN days, and Madinah 2 hotel nights and 3 Catering BRN days.

Booking mismatches and BRN corrections

These are practical checks from this agency’s files. They are not a list of official Saudi penalties.

  • Treating a Booking.com, Agoda or similar confirmation number as an approved Nusuk Hotel BRN.
  • A hold that expires before the hotel can verify payment, so the request no longer matches a live reservation.
  • Changing the hotel or the dates after the agreement request has been sent, without updating the file.
  • A guest name or travel date that does not match the passport or the arrangements.
  • Asking for a BRN correction while a previous hotel request is still pending or already approved against different dates.

Send the booking you already have if you want it reviewed. An acceptable independently booked hotel can often be kept. A correction, cancellation or new agreement may be needed when names, dates or payment details do not match. Document lists are on the requirements page.

Questions

What is the full form of BRN in an Umrah visa?

Booking Reference Number. On this page it is the hotel or catering-service reference used in the applicable Nusuk Umrah workflow. It is not a visa number, not a passport number, and not a Booking.com or Agoda confirmation number.

What is the difference between Hotel BRN and Catering BRN?

Hotel BRN is the accommodation booking/reference coordination in the applicable Nusuk workflow. Catering BRN is a separate catering-service reference tied to permitted itinerary/service days, which can differ from hotel nights. Paying for Catering BRN does not provide actual meals. For Standard assistance, Catering BRN is charged separately: Makkah ₹75 and Madinah ₹125 per person per applicable service day. Premium is ₹13,990 plus ₹290 per person per full intended trip day and includes eligible Hotel BRN/reference coordination and Catering BRN coordination, not hotel rooms or meals.

Is a Booking.com or Agoda number a BRN?

No. A Booking.com, Agoda or similar confirmation number is not automatically an approved Nusuk Hotel BRN. The hotel still has to be identified in Nusuk Masar, an accommodation agreement created, and that agreement approved. A credit-card guarantee or a pay-at-check-in reservation is not that approval. For this agency’s standard coordination, arrange a fully paid, hotel-confirmed reservation before requesting approval. Hotel policies differ, and full prepayment is not stated here as a rule of Saudi law.

Is a BRN required for every Saudi visa?

Requirements depend on the visa category and the processing route. This page describes Hotel BRN and Catering BRN on this agency’s applicable Umrah visa-processing workflow. It does not claim that every Saudi visa category requires identical BRNs. First-leg airport transport is coordinated through Tafweej. It is not a Transport BRN.

How long does hotel BRN approval take, and how long is the visa after that?

Hotel approval often takes approximately 24–48 hours on this agency’s files. That is operational experience, not a guarantee. Waiting for hotel approval is not the same as waiting for a Saudi visa decision. After the required hotel, Catering BRN, flight and document arrangements are complete, visa processing may follow. Practical ranges are on the processing-time page.

Does Catering BRN include meals?

No. Catering BRN is a catering-service reference/coordination used in the applicable Nusuk workflow. Payment for that arrangement does not provide actual meals.

Is there a published Hotel BRN fee if I already booked hotels?

No universal Hotel BRN fee is published on this page. Hotel BRN coordination for customer-provided bookings must be confirmed separately. Premium’s additional daily charge includes eligible Hotel BRN/reference coordination and Catering BRN coordination. The complete commercial explanation is on the price page.

What is a BRN in Umrah?

A BRN is a booking or service reference used to identify accommodation or another registered service in the applicable Saudi Umrah processing workflow. An ordinary online hotel confirmation number is not automatically an approved Nusuk Masar accommodation agreement. The reference needed can differ by visa category and processing channel.

How is a Hotel BRN generated?

On this agency’s Nusuk Masar workflow, the operator searches for the hotel, enters rooms, beds, guests and stay dates, and creates an accommodation agreement. Creation is not approval. The hotel then checks the reservation. After the hotel approves, the approved accommodation reference can be linked to the Umrah programme for those dates.

Why does the hotel need to approve the agreement?

The hotel checks that the reservation, dates, rooms, guests and any payment or settlement it requires match the agreement. Until the hotel approves it, the reference is pending. A pending reference is not an approved BRN.

Can I generate a BRN from a Booking.com reservation?

The Booking.com number itself is not a Nusuk BRN. An independently booked hotel can still be reviewed. The hotel must be found in Nusuk Masar, and the hotel must approve the accommodation agreement. Some independently booked reservations need extra coordination with the hotel’s reservations or finance team.

Is full hotel payment required?

Full hotel prepayment is not stated here as a universal requirement of Saudi law. For this agency’s standard BRN coordination, customers should arrange a fully paid and hotel-confirmed reservation before requesting agreement approval. Some hotels will not approve an agreement while the booking is only a card guarantee or pay-at-check-in. The hotel’s own policy decides that step.

What if the hotel has not approved the BRN?

The agreement stays awaiting hotel approval. It should not be treated as an approved BRN. The hotel may be checking inventory, guest details or payment. This agency can explain what to ask the hotel. It cannot approve the agreement in the hotel’s place.

What happens if I change hotels after approval?

A change of hotel or dates means the approved agreement no longer matches the stay. A new agreement is normally required, and that new agreement needs its own hotel approval before it is linked to the programme. Do not assume the earlier approval carries over.

What is a Catering BRN?

Catering BRN is the catering-service reference used in the applicable Umrah programme. It is separate from Hotel BRN. It records a catering arrangement against permitted service days. It is not the hotel stay, and it is not proof that meals have been purchased.

Does Catering BRN include a food coupon?

No. This agency’s Catering BRN coordination does not include actual meals or a redeemable food coupon. If a quotation does not include meals, the traveller does not receive them from this charge.

What is the difference between Standard and Premium BRN assistance?

Standard assistance is ₹13,990 per person and does not include Catering BRN or Hotel BRN. On Standard, Catering BRN is charged separately and Hotel BRN coordination for a customer-provided booking is confirmed separately. Premium is ₹13,990 plus ₹290 per person per full intended trip day. That daily charge includes eligible Hotel BRN coordination and Catering BRN coordination. It does not include hotel rooms or meals, and it does not approve an unpaid reservation or bypass hotel approval.

Can Omni Trips help with independently booked hotels?

Omni Trips and Hospitality Services can review a hotel the customer has already booked, search for it in Nusuk Masar where it is available, and guide the approval request. The customer may still need to speak to the hotel. Not every hotel is available in the system, and the hotel decides whether to approve.
