Makkah Umrah Hotels: Understanding Zone A, Zone B, and Zone C

Choose by the walk, the crowd, and the lifts, not by a star rating. The figures below are the older guide's planning notes. They are not a 2026 ministry regulation, and they do not decide whether a visa is issued.

What the older guide compared

The saved page sorted hotels into three working names. Zone A was the towers beside Masjid al-Haram. Zone B was behind the Clock Tower. Zone C was the shuttle belt farther out. Map distance was treated as the weaker clue. Lift queues and the time you spend inside the mosque were treated as the stronger ones.

Older guide's Zone A, Zone B, and Zone C comparison. Planning notes only.
Factor Zone A Zone B Zone C
How the older guide described the walk A short walk, which it put at about 2–5 minutes A longer walk, which it put at about 10–15 minutes Not a walking stay. It put the hotels at about 1 km
Crowd and the building Highest crowd, in the tower hotels nearest the Haram Moderate crowd. Many buildings described as older, with fewer lifts Lower crowd. Newer buildings, which the guide said often had more lifts
How you reach the Haram On foot. The guide said to go early and stay inside through peak prayers On foot, including slopes and narrower roads behind the Clock Tower A hotel shuttle. Confirm the stop and the hours before you book
Who the guide said it suited People who want the shortest walk and can manage tower crowds Groups who can walk and wait Longer stays, and groups who would rather ride than walk

How to use the three notes

  • Zone A is the short walk. The guide also said Friday and peak prayers can close routes before the adhan, and that tower lifts commonly queued. Its advice was to enter early and stay through several prayers rather than go back to the room between them.
  • Zone B can look close on a map and still mean a slope, a narrow road, and an older lift. The guide suggested it when the group can walk and can wait.
  • Zone C is a ride, not a walk. The guide said newer hotels there often had more lifts, and that the shuttle is run by the hotel to a set drop-off. Ask for the stop and the hours. A "free 24-hour shuttle" was the guide's general line, not a promise for every property.

The same page said some Zone C hotels did not appear when a hotel reference was generated for the visa, while still describing them as licensed for a stay. That is the guide's account of a system list. It is not a statement that a farther hotel is illegal, and a hotel reference is not stated here as required for every visa. The words this site uses are on the BRN page.

Omni Trips and Hospitality Services can review a booking you already have. The Standard price and the Premium formula are on the price page. Saudi authorities issue the visa. Start from apply or read the India page. Season dates are on the calendar.

Questions

Are Zone A, Zone B, and Zone C official Saudi hotel categories?

This page does not say that. The older Makkah guide used the three names as a planning comparison: walk, crowd, lifts, and shuttle. It is not restated here as a Ministry of Hajj and Umrah or Ministry of Tourism rule.

Which zone is better if the group includes elders?

The older guide said the nearest hotels are also the most crowded, and that lift waits in those towers can be long at prayer time. A shuttle hotel avoids the walk and adds a ride. Tell us the ages and whether anyone has trouble with stairs. That is planning help, not a booking rule.

Does a Zone C hotel fail the visa because it is farther away?

No. The older guide said some farther hotels were missing from the visa-stage hotel list, and it called that a system limit rather than a finding that the hotel was unlicensed. This page does not adopt that as a rule. A hotel reference is not stated as required for every visa route.

Can I send a hotel I have already booked?

Yes, for an optional review. A booking-site confirmation is not the same thing as the hotel reference used in a visa file. An acceptable booking can be kept. Meals are not part of Catering BRN, which is a separate documentation charge explained on the price page.

Do you publish hotel rates for these zones?

No. This page has no hotel tariff. The Standard visa assistance price is on the price page. A hotel quote, if you want one, is confirmed in writing on WhatsApp.

Send the travel month, the number of people, and whether anyone needs a shorter walk. WhatsApp does not book the Haram.
